And because no post should be cardless, here’s a couple random cards I got in that collection I absorbed last year that deserve to see the light of day.
It’s a pair of rookie cards! A 1988 O-Pee-Chee Gerald Young, and a 1989 Donruss The Rookies of Eric Yelding. These two guys will be appearing at the Legends Weekend festivities this Saturday and signing some autographs. The vouchers ran out early, but I’m going to take a big stack of cards of the “legends” appearing and give them out to kids. Hopefully, I can get one or two to grab me an extra of the few players I need. I met Young last year at this game, and I have a Yelding sig, but it’s weak, in pen, and I traded for it – so it would be much nicer to replace that with an in person auto in bolder ink.
We’ll see how it goes. Maybe I’ll even get really lucky and be able to buy a spare voucher off someone.
